Cardi B files to divorce Offset, seeks custody of their 2-year-old daughter Kulture:

They were one of music’s biggest power couples.

Now Cardi B is seeking a divorce from husband Offset.

Cardi, 27,whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, filed for divorce in Atlanta Tuesday after she reportedly found out Offset cheated again. The rappers, who have a 2-year-old daughter named Kulture, are due in court Nov. 4.

According to the petition, obtained by USA TODAY, Cardi B wants legal and primary physical custody of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Kulture. She is also seeking an equitable division of their marital assets as well as for Offset to pay both child support and all of her legal fees from the divorce.
Offset, 28, a member of the Atlanta rap group Migos, had been accused of infidelity earlier in their marriage.

Cardi and Offset secretly married in 2017 before an onstage “proposal” the next month and broke up just months later, only to get back together.

(“I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore. I don’t know, it might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father.” Cardi said at the time.)

A few days later, Offset crashed his wife’s set at the Rolling Loud music festival in Los Angeles in an attempt to win her back, wheeling out an elaborate flower arrangement that spelled out “TAKE ME BACK CARDI” along with bouquets of red and white flowers. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper wasn’t having it: She shook her head at Offset and had an inaudible exchange with him before sending him offstage.

She currently has the No. 1 song in the country. “WAP,” Cardi’s collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August. The sensational music video has nearly 200 million views on YouTube. Cardi’s songs with Offset and Migos include “Clout” and “Drip.”

The rapper, born Belcalis Almanzar, has not addressed the divorce filing on her tremendously popular Instagram account, where she has more than 75 million followers.

In 2018, Cardi was indicted on multiple charges, including two counts of reckless endangerment and one count of assault, after she was allegedly involved in an incident with bartenders at a strip club in Queens. The bartenders alleged that Cardi, believing Offset, born Kiari Cephus, had an affair with one of the women, ordered an attack on them. Cardi pleaded not guilty.

Cardi, a former reality TV star who shot to greater fame with her No. 1 song “Bodak Yellow” in 2017, hails from the Bronx, but has also been known to have a home in Edgewater. Her first album, “Invasion of Privacy,” debuted at No. 1 in 2018 and went on to win the Grammy for best rap album.

Cardi B says she’s ‘working things out’ with estranged husband Offset

During an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” the following March 2019, Offset opened up about becoming briefly estranged from Cardi B.

“I love my wife, so it’s serious, not a game to me,” he said.

Offset also told DeGeneres he decided to own his mistakes with his wife: “I stepped to it as a man and said, ‘I’m wrong.’ I stepped to it as a man, and you don’t have to take me back but I just want you to know I love you and I care.”
